Scope
Turbo-style roundabout
A Dutch approach, adapted for Kent.
An early UK application of the Dutch turbo-roundabout approach, using signing, road markings and materials to guide traffic through the junction.
My contribution
I designed and project managed the scheme, considering road safety alongside the ongoing maintenance requirements of the layout and materials.
Design & delivery considerations
A permanent First World War memorial was incorporated into the design. The roundabout was subsequently named Flanders.
