Privacy & dataWhat happens to your information.
Short version: this site sets no cookies, runs no tracking and uses no third-party services. The only personal data collected is what you type into the enquiry form, and it is used solely to reply to you.
No cookies. No analytics. No tracking. This website does not set cookies, does not use analytics software, and loads no fonts, scripts or images from anyone else's servers. Nothing you do here is shared with, or visible to, any third party.
Who is responsible
Koningen Highways Consultancy, Ashford, Kent, is the data controller for information submitted through this website. For any question about your data, contact contact@koningen.co.uk or call 07967 123478.
What is collected
Only what you choose to enter into the enquiry form:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- The scheme location, if you provide one
- The message you write
- The IP address the enquiry was sent from, and the date and time
The IP address and timestamp are recorded for one reason only: to limit automated spam submissions. They are not used to identify or profile you.
Why it is collected, and on what basis
Your details are used to reply to your enquiry and, if you go on to instruct me, to carry out that work. The lawful basis is legitimate interests, since you have contacted a business expecting a response, and, where an engagement follows, performance of a contract.
Your information is never used for marketing, never added to a mailing list, and never sold, rented or shared with anyone for their own purposes.
Where it is stored
Submitting the form does two things. It sends the content to me by email, and it writes a copy to a private file on this website's own hosting, a safety net so that no enquiry is lost if an email fails to deliver. That file is not publicly accessible.
Email is subsequently held in the ordinary business email account. No enquiry data passes through any third-party form service, marketing platform or customer database.
How long it is kept
Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Where an engagement follows, project correspondence and records are retained for as long as is necessary for professional, insurance and legal purposes, typically six years from completion, in line with professional indemnity requirements.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may ask for a copy of the personal data held about you, ask for it to be corrected or erased, object to its processing, or ask that processing be restricted. Email contact@koningen.co.uk and I will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how your data has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. I would ask that you raise it with me first, so I have the chance to put it right.
